Hi, first in foremost I am a mommy to a brilliant 10-year-old little boy. I am married to my husband Duane, however, he is not just my husband he is my best friend; the one who has seen me fail and succeed, made me laugh and held me when I cry. The lord gave me two wonderful gifts when he put my husband in my life and then my son. We live in TN where I am attending APSU to get my degree in Elementary Education (k-6). We have one Dog, Mackenzie Ann. I owe everything in my life to God, he has blessed me, gotten me through many rough times, and is continuing to work in my life. As of right now, what I do is, I am a full time student, a mommy, a wife, and lastly I teach 4-5th grade life group at my church.

Crawfish Boil

Over the weekend, my husband cooked a Crawfish Boil.  It was so yummy!!!! With that being said, it reminded me of the first time I ever had crawfish.  We went to GA to visit some family friends (actually, they are more family than friends).  Before we went on a boat tour one early evening, they order this huge bucket of food!  It had potatoes, corn, shrimp, sausage, and of course crawfish.  I have to say I was not a big fan of the whole eyes looking at me.  Besides, at our old house in KY we had these little pest putting wholes in our yard.  However, I did it and was pleasantly surprised!  Wish I knew these things tasted good when we lived in KY hahaha.  So, this weekend Duane made us a boil with crawfish, shrimp, corn, onions, green beans, red potatoes, celery, Andouille sausage, and even some fresh garlic was added along with Old Bay seasoning.  It was great, however, Duane was not happy because, well see, you cannot get GA shrimp here in TN.  Those shrimp have their very own taste they are sweet, due to the sugar cane like grass they feed on.

OHHHHH how it took me back to that visit; part of our hearts stayed in GA!
